PLANNING A TRIP TO CEBU, PHILIPPINES

CEBU is located in the central part (Visayas) of the Philippines. Now, I am sharing you my experienced for a 5 days and 4 Nights (5D4N) trip and that for sure you will let yourself want to go back in Cebu again. I can say CEBU is quite a good city with having cheap prices for food, fare and accommodations. As well as a lot great places to visit too! They also have friendly people and taxi drivers, and that of course as a traveler it will be a plus to like the city. 😀 

So to say my trip was very successful!🙌

So here we go, when you are planning a trip, you should first prepare to download the app, that will be very useful when going to a trip. 

• The first one will be the "Wunderlist" app, it is a to-do list & Tasks to make so we can plan everything accordingly.

You can download the app to your Android and iOS device. Below is the screenshot how the app looks like:

• Second one, is the Airbnb app (You can use my link so when you travel you can get $19 or ₱950 as your travel credit). In this app you can book faraway places or to your hometown, accessing unique homes, searching for new experiences in any places around the world. I highly recommend this app especially because we can find cheap accommodations here. Below is the overview how the Airbnb app looks like ( I made a filter that I can only see home ranging up to $100/day only 😉):

• Third one, is to use and download the UBER app (flat down rate is ₱30), good for far places and mostly young professionals will drive for you, so if you are a foreigner its easy to find Drivers who can speak well in English and chit chat with them. Or you can also use a GRAB a Taxi app (flat down rate is ₱40). I also recommend this both apps it is for you to have faster transportation and for your safety purposes. Below is the screenshot of UBER and Grab a taxi app:

• Last but not the least, a Philippines sim card 😀 So you can have access to the internet wherever you go, you can choose "Smart Buddy" sim card and register to a valid of 3 days 1GB internet access to your mobile phone (As because it is a 5 days trip, you may need to register twice). To register: Type GIGA50 and send to 9999. You can also choose to register GIGA99 for 7 days (for 1.5 GB internet access). For more info about Smart Promo, please see this link: GIGA SURF PROMO

 ( I preferred to use this one, as I am smart buddy user and I mostly use mobile data instead of using my Globe pocket WiFi, because for me I find its fast) but if you use Globe or pocket WiFi from other Telcos, It will be fine of course. You can buy Philippines sim card at the airport, at the mall or some other small stores. 

DAY 1-2:

• ARRIVAL @ Mactan CEBU International Airport

WHAT TO DO:

• Ready your phone and use UBER or Grab A taxi to send you at the place where you will be staying. 
• I have chosen CALYX RESIDENCES (direction) while staying in Cebu City, located in Samar Loop. One of the relaxing short term to book in Airbnb (sign up here if don't have Airbnb yet). It is free to use of infinity pool and gym facilities. 😍

• And if you feel like hungry, you can eat at one of the Best Lechon restaurant's in Cebu: 

(a) Rico's Lechon - this restaurant believed to be the pioneer of the spicy flavored Lechon in Cebu.

(b) Zubuchon (nearby place from the airport, also there's a branch located in Cebu City) - boneless lechon taste good as the lechon roasted over the charcoal and using bamboo poles.

• To Visit Places like: 

(a) Temple of Leah - It is a History Museum in Cebu City. This Temple was constructed in the year of 2012 A.D. as  symbol of undying love of Teodorico to his wife Leah Villa Albino-Adarna. (Directions)

Entrance Fee: $0.98 or ₱50 

(b) Taoist Temple - It is a Chinese Architecture located in Beverly Hills subdivision. (Directions)

Entrance Fee: Free

• Dinner @ La Vi Parisienne (best to visit during in the evening) - its the first French Boulangerie, Pastry shops and wine library in Cebu and I found this place very relaxing to chill out. Like their Pizza by the way! 😻 (Directions)

Day 3: Looking Around the City

• You can go in Island Pasalubong/Souvenirs (directions) to buy gifts to your family, friends and love ones. Aside from this shop, you can also visit malls, Waterfront hotel for more souvenirs. 💕

• Lunch at Buffet 101 (direction) one of the best buffet restaurant in Cebu that I can recommend. Cost is about ₱799/pax or $16.30/pax during weekdays. 

• You can visit Crown Regency hotel (direction), for sky Experience adventure (like Edge coaster, Sky walking, zipline and tower zip) 

• Also, you can also visit Waterfront hotel, please note that there are two (2) Waterfront hotel and Casino (within Cebu City and Near the Mactan airport) , if you want to eat or play casino a bit. 

Day 4-5: Stay in Mactan before you go back home 😉

• Mövenpick residences (by CEATA), I recommend you to choose this residential place for cheap thrills budgets using Airbnb. If you do not have Airbnb account yet, you can sign-up here. 

• Also, you can have a chill and relaxing evening at Ibiza Beach Club, just inside the Mövenpick. 

• If you wanted to have a great steak to eat here at Mactan, you can visit Western Steak House (direction), they have one of the delicious steak in town.
